as suggested by my friend
numb3r_5ev3n over here, here are some things i have been able to do with my free time since i have stopped using tumblr (and most stopped with facebook too).

- i ordered a tarot deck and fountain pen, which i should receive tomorrow.
- i read a book on bullet journalling, which sounds exciting. i have a suitable journal, and i'm gonna set it up to start with the new year as soon as i get that pen.
- i've been reading up on how to install arch linux on my macbook. efi boot stuff is still kind of new to me, and i don't understand how it all works. bios, for all of its many problems, was at least fairly simple in its mechanisms. probably going to give that a go tonight or tomorrow.
- i did a couple hours of shopping yesterday, which was enough walking to make me a bit sore (not that that is hard, given the desk job career i have). i picked a book out for my wife (Gunnerkrigg Court vol 1, one of her favorites).

Date: 2018-12-24 03:24 pm (UTC)Okay, so I dont use it the standard way. I use it as two different kinds of calendar, a page of notes for getting stuff done and two pages of notes for getting junk in my brain to organize on a page per month. I have the Friend Book in the back with all of the stuff about you that I need to keep distinct, allergens and preferences kind of stuff. I have an urgent and non-urgent to-do list per month that really helped prioritize where my time was going. That was probably the most helpful part.
All that took about two months to coalesce into how I use it.
Another perspn I know tried tracking periods and weight loss and food and writing and projects, and as the months went by she kept the food and weight loss part and the lists of stuff to do. She lost 40 pounds, so it worked for her purposes. I got the idea from her of keeping my lists of stuff to read and watch on separate pages in the middle, away from where the calendars would encroach.
Goals and the achievement of them
